Robert N. Brewer Family Foundation Building
This building is a monument to Robert n. Brewer, a charitable and philanthropic leader in the Herrin and Southern Illinois communities, and founder of Best Inns of America. The entire building is a display and monument to the life of this man. Architechniques was commissioned in 2000 to design a fitting memorial and functional office space for this Foundation. Mr. Denver Brewer and Ms. Marie Delaney provided the design parameters and the criteria for a successful design and we went about exploring the options and opportunities this type of project presents. The main criteria was this building reflect the historical buildings which existed in Herrin in the early 1900's. This project won the 2005 A.I.A. Southern Illinois Chapter Design Award.
