The leaders of Carterville had for decades dreamed of a community and civic center. Mayor Mausey of Carterville decided that it should be undertaken and the city contracted with Achitechniques to help in the design, budgeting, and construction of this center. The result was an 11,000 square foot, multi-purpose civic and events center that features a large 8,000 square foot events room which can be divided into two 4,000 square foot spaces. Other features are an exterior performing stage, and full service kitchen with exterior rolling screen for events serving the Cannon Park in which the building is the center piece.
Architechniques was hired for the design and construction of the renovation of the 5,000 square foot building and the addition of 7,000 square feet of space to house a children’s library, story and theater area, multi- purpose meeting room, historic museum display area, and new circulation desk, and office space. This renovation included all new electrical, plumbing, HVAC and technology updates for the entire building. This renovation included door and lock replacement, new cabinetry and countertops, new roofing system, and renovations to the electrical and plumbing.
This project was constructed using funds obtained through grants secured from the Illinois State Library Board. What we did…
We provided Christopher Rural Health Planning Corporation with full architectural services to design and administer the construction of a new state of the art 32,000 square foot medical facility to replace their existing out-dated healthcare facility. As a part of our pre-design services we helped the owner to evaluate the cost of upgrading and renovating their existing facility while still trying to see patients on a daily basis vs. building a new facility adjacent to their existing. The new medical facility houses a medical clinic with a pod for 8 medical provider, a full dental clinic with 8 operatories, a full service pharmacy and expanded administrative space for their network of clinics.
What we did…
We worked with the staff of the Vine Church to design and administer the construction of a new 12,000 s.f. multi-purpose building adjacent to their existing church facility. The North Building, as it has come to be known, was designed to meet the needs of the church’s growing youth programs while still providing flexibility for the various other expanding church functions. We designed into the building activity areas in the full size basketball & volleyball courts; hang-out areas in the game room & snack bar; quiet areas in the group rooms & classrooms. The exterior of the building was also designed to incorporate these needs with fully lit basketball & sand volleyball courts, patio space and plenty of open yard space.
