Curt Orso, AIA

Curt Orso began working at Architechniques, Ltd. as a high school intern during the summer of 2000. After graduating high school, he attended Rend Lake College and Southern Illinois University. While at SIUC, Mr. Orso returned to working at Architechniques, Ltd. , this time as a Project Technician. Mr. Orso graduated SIUC in 2006, earning his Bachelors in Science and was promoted to Project Coordinator. Mr. Orso became a licensed Architect (Illinois) in 2015.  In 2016 and 2017 Mr. Orso purchased shares of stock in ownership of Architechniques.

As a Project Architect Mr. Orso’s responsibilities include client contact, design, and day-to-day management of the various projects in his charge. These duties include writing specifications, estimating, generating construction documents, bidding services and construction administration.  Upon purchasing shares of ownership in the firm, Curt was elected, by the Board of Directors, to the position of Secretary/Treasurer of the Corporation.

As a Project Coordinator Mr. Orso’s responsibilities included day-to-day management of the various projects in his charge. These duties included specifications, estimating, generating construction documents, bidding services.

Herrin, Illinois — 2003-2006

As a Project Technician his responsibilities were to draw various construction details and elevations, write specifications, and estimating. When time allowed, Mr. Orso attended meetings with owners and contractors, and observed projects in construction.

From basic design work to construction drawings and architectural history, RLC helped further Mr. Orso’s education and working knowledge. The courses were designed to help prepare students for higher level university courses and with the Occupational Certificate would allow students to go out and get a job at an architecture firm.


Southern Illinois University
Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies — 2003-2006

Mr. Orso’s undergraduate degree at SIU gave him an excellent basis of understanding in architecture and the skill set necessary to quickly be productive for employers. At SIUC, he gained knowledge on construction detailing and building materials. Architectural design was also a heavy emphasis in his Junior and Senior years.
